The Pura Vida Story

A Shared Vision for Humanized Healthcare

Pura Vida Mind & Body, PLLC was born from a simple but profound desire: to move away from the rushed, “one-size-fits-all” approach of modern medicine. Founded by the husband-and-wife team of Jackie Hoffman and Scott Anderman, our practice responds to a fragmented healthcare landscape in which patients too often feel like a number rather than an individual. Together, we envisioned a sanctuary where Arizona residents could access mental health and wellness services that are as rigorous as they are compassionate.

The "Pura Vida" Philosophy

Our name reflects our commitment to the “pure life”—a state of being where mental clarity and physical vitality exist in perfect harmony. We believe that true wellness isn’t just the absence of symptoms; it is the presence of confidence and balance. We don’t just treat patients; we partner with individuals to cultivate new lifestyles and achieve the transformative outcomes they’ve been seeking.

The Intersection of Rigor and Warmth

Based in Queen Creek, we have built a practice where the clinical excellence of a major medical organization meets the personalized warmth of a boutique private clinic. By combining Jackie’s deep clinical empathy in psychiatry with Scott’s background in high-level healthcare operations, we ensure that your journey is both medically sound and operationally seamless. Whether you are connecting with us through our secure telemedicine platform or preparing for a visit to our upcoming physical office, you are supported by a team dedicated to transparency, integrity, and the art of truly listening.

Your Sanctuary for Growth

Currently serving all of Arizona via telehealth—with a premier physical location coming soon—Pura Vida is more than a clinic; it is a partner in your evolution. From integrated psychiatry and psychotherapy to our expanding preventative wellness programs, we are here to help you navigate your health journey with confidence and grace.

Jackie Hoffman, PMHNP-BC

Founder & Clinical Director
Jackie is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to redefining the standard of mental health care. Her clinical philosophy is rooted in a “listen-first” approach—moving beyond the hurried “15-minute med check” to treat the whole person. By integrating evidence-based psychiatry with a compassionate, psychotherapy-informed perspective, Jackie helps her patients clear the mental fog and reclaim their confidence. At Pura Vida, she provides a judgment-free sanctuary where your story is the most important part of the clinical plan, ensuring you have the support to live your own “pure life.”

Scott C. Anderman, BSN, RN

Co-Founder & Director of Operations
Scott is a Registered Nurse and strategic healthcare leader with over 15 years of experience ensuring that complex medical systems actually work for the people they serve. With a background spanning cardiac care and leading national healthcare operations, Scott bridges the gap between high-level clinical strategy and modern convenience. At Pura Vida, he oversees the “operational heart” of the practice—managing the how so that Jackie can focus on the who. Whether it’s perfecting the patient journey from the first click on our website or ensuring our telemedicine platform is cutting-edge, Scott is dedicated to the belief that the “business of healing” should be transparent, efficient, and always focused on the client’s long-term success.

How Pura Vida Mind and Body Was Born

Pura Vida Mind and Body PLLC began with a simple but powerful realization.

As a husband and wife, we saw firsthand how broken the current mental health care system can feel. Appointments were rushed. Care felt disconnected. People were reduced to checklists instead of being treated as whole human beings. Too often, patients were left feeling unheard, confused, or overwhelmed—at a time when they needed clarity and compassion the most.

We knew there had to be a better way.

So we set out to create a practice that does things differently—one built on time, trust, and real connection. A place where mental health care isn’t just about managing symptoms, but about supporting the whole person: mind, body, and everyday life.

At Pura Vida Mind and Body, we focus on listening first. We take the time to understand your story, explain your options clearly, and create care plans that actually fit your life. By combining psychiatry, therapy, wellness services, and telemedicine, we make care easier to access and more meaningful to experience.

Our mission is simple:
to replace rushed care with thoughtful care, confusion with clarity, and isolation with support—so our community in Arizona can live a healthier, more balanced life.
